Senatus ProletariusQue Praetorius

CONSTITUTION

  1. Every member of Praetorian Guards has the right to Raid and or experience end-game content, including its rewards, and is eligible for the use of guild’s resources that will make that experience possible. However the right to Raid is not a privilege, it must be earned.

  2. The image of the guild is every member’s personal responsibility. Unworthy behavior will not be tolerated and will result in disciplinary action.

  3. Every member of Praetorian Guards has the right to speak and be heard by the leaders of the guild, so long as it is done constructively and respectfully.

  4. The constitution rests on three "I am". They are its essence.

    1. I am a Member

    2. I am a Raider

    3. I am Virtuous

I AM A MEMBER

  • Recruit
Recruits are people that have just been accepted into the guild. In previous raids, before attaining status of a recruit, PG members had a priority over you in loot distribution. Now you are our equal when it comes to loot, however, a full member still has a priority over you when filling the raid group. Your recruitment period will last for 4 weeks. It may take more or less time to approve your membership. A firm establishment in our DKP system, forum attendance, as well as behaving as Praetorian should/will help the Senate in reaching their decision. However, no recruit will progress beyond recruit without a promise to the guild, stating why you want to be a member of PG.
  • Peregrine
The first rank of a full membership. Your effort in proving yourself has been noticed. Continue in this fashion, attain respect and trust of every member in the guild, and you will find your self in a very good place, like nowhere else.
  • Proletarian
If you are curious enough, you will know that the word proletarian translates as a worker and electorate. This is what you are. You are giving your time and effort on a regular basis: your raid attendance, professions, team play are a part of guild’s foundation. What you are is what the guild is.
  • Raider-Praetor
Indeed, you have answered the call and shown the dedication to be a designated raider. You have shown yourself to be prepared to wipe, prepared to learn, prepared to beat end-game content. Raider-Praetors are those that consistantly show their dedication to defeating end-game content and to be a driving member of the team.
  • Prefect
The first step of an officer in this guild. Your duty is to be your Centurion’s right hand and foot. You will help him manage your cohort. Beyond that, you are an officer of the Praetorian Guards. Much is expected from you. You are the one setting an example in leadership and obedience by being the perfect role model of a Praetorian Guard.
  • Centurion
General, you command 1/8 of the praetorian army. You definitely know the “game" and how to play it. You are responsible for the discipline and integrity of your cohort, so that it may supply the raid with soldiers that are prepared and well briefed. At your disposal you have a forum where you can make sure that every member of your cohort is aware of what is expected of him and how he may achieve the goals set. Centurions work closely with the Senate. After all, you are the one recruiting new members of your class, and it’s up to you to keep your regiment balanced.
  • General
A Centurion once asked a General, "How many men could I lead?" "About fifteen," said the General. Then the Centurion asked, "How many men could you lead?" "The more the better," said the General.
  • Arbiter
This is not a game any more. You decide on the fate of the entire guild. We trust in your benevolence and justice.
  • Emperor
Bearing the weight of the crown, this man is the protector of all Praetorians. Hail Caesar.

The System.

The guild has a number if characters named PG[profession]. They are used to manage the guild’s economy. These banks are fueling the raid machine, and are voluntarily supplied by our members.

I AM A RAIDER

Statement of Purpose
The Praetorian Guards are dedicated to conquering World of Warcraft's end game content with class and honor. For the furtherance of this purpose, we herein lay out the organization and rules that govern our raids. Written with the ideals of fairness, trust, and sound leadership in mind, this document is a true and complete contract between the Praetorian Guards and its members.
Article 1: The Cohort System
The foundation of our raiding system is the cohort system. Centurions (or their chosen representatives) are responsible for scheduling members for raids and inviting members of their cohort when invites have begun. Each Praetorian Guards' member may have several characters, but only one of those characters may be in a class cohort. That character is the member's "main". Members should only sign up for raids on their main character unless given permission to bring an alt by the cohort leader corresponding to that alt's class. Members may change mains, and thus cohorts, only with the permission of the leader of their destination cohort and the leader of their current cohort. If a switch is approved, the DKP is non-transferable, they will have to earn new dkp for their new main.
Article 2: Scheduling and Signups
Section 1: Signups.
Signups take place on the "Raid Schedule" mini site. The Senator in charge of raiding presents a weekly schedule of raids.

Cohort leaders are responsible for approving queued members of their cohort. Members of each cohort always receive preference over alts when signing up for raids, so long as the member meets the minimum requirements for the raid he/she is signing up for. Each cohort should provide five raiders and two alternates for each scheduled raid, if able.
Section 2: Invites.
Invites begin on raid’s scheduled invites time. At this time the raid leader will invite the cohort leaders, who will in turn begin inviting the five members of their class scheduled for that raid.

All raiders must be online at least fifteen minutes before the scheduled start of the raid. If a scheduled raider is still absent fifteen minutes before the raid begins, the first alternate of that class should be invited. The absent raider then becomes an alternate of the lowest priority for that raid.

A scheduled raider may reserve a spot past the fifteen minute mark only with the approval of the cohort leader, and spots may never be reserved past the scheduled start time of the raid. In the case that a spot has been so reserved, an alternate should be prepared and located at the instance entrance until the scheduled raider comes online. If the scheduled raider is not online by the start time of the raid, the alternate should be invited and the absent raider then becomes an alternate of the lowest priority for that raid.

If five raiders cannot be provided, the cohort leader should immediately inform the raid leader so the spots can be promptly filled by other cohorts.
Section 3: Replacing Members During a Raid.
Sometimes it is necessary to invite during the raid to replace members that need to leave.

Any raider who knows they will not be able to stay for the full run must inform their cohort leader in advance of the run. If this is for some reason impossible, the cohort leader should be given as much advance notice as possible. The cohort leader is then responsible for finding a replacement within the cohort (usually the next alternate raider scheduled for that day).

In all cases that a replacement cannot be found, the cohort leader should inform the raid leader immediately. The raid leader will then decide what class the raid requires and direct the leader of that cohort to find a replacement. If no replacement can be found in the new cohort, repeat this process until a replacement is found.

Once a replacement is found, the replacement's cohort leader will tell them what time they are needed. The replacement should be waiting at the instance entrance at that time (oftentimes, the replacement will be needed immediately and they should, in that case, head straight to the instance). The current raider should leave the raid and the instance sometime after his/her replacement is there, no sooner. Only under extreme, unavoidable circumstances should a raider ever leave a raid in progress before a replacement is prepared to immediately assume the spot in the instance. All transitions should be smooth, almost instantaneous, and made at a convenient time (i.e., not during a boss fight or trash mob pull). In the case that the raid leader was not involved in the replacement process, such as when the process was completed entirely internally within a cohort, the raid leader should be informed by the cohort leader a few minutes prior to the switch.
Article 3: Conduct and Rules During Raids
It is required for every member to conform to the following minimum raid requirements. Failure to meet the requirements may result in your ineligibility to raid until the requirements are met.
  1. All raiders are required to be logged on to their class channel, use Ventrilo and be present in the appropriate channel for the duration of the raid. Any technical issues with Ventrilo must be brought to the attention of your class leader.
  2. All raiders must have CT Raid Assist installed and active.
  3. All Paladins, Priests, Druids, and Mages must have Decursive installed and active.
  4. All Paladins, Priests, Druids, and Mages must bring enough reagents to last the projected time of the raid. If fewer than five members of a given class sign up, those attending should increase their reagent purchases appropriately.
  5. All raiders must repair immediately before the start time of a raid, or before joining a raid that is already in progress.
Individual cohort leaders may set additional raiding requirements that must be met by the members of that cohort so long as those requirements do not directly contradict those outlined above.
Section 1: Looting
At the beginning of the raid, the raid leader will designate a looter responsible for looting non-epic drops. No one but the designated looter may loot items at any time unless given express permission by the raid leader. If a dropped item is a BoP, it is disenchanted only when no other option exists to distribute it to a member of the guild that needs it.
Section 2: Raid Leader
Only class leaders are authorized to privately contact the raid leader during raid. Any issue should be brought up with your Centurion/Prefect (or, if not possible, any other class leader) before contacting the raid leader.

The raid leader is bound by the terms of the Raid Constitution and, during a raid, has supreme power in enforcing the rules laid out herein. When an issue is encountered during a raid for which there is no guidance in the Constitution, the Raid Leader is to make a spot ruling. That ruling is binding for the duration of the raid. After the raid has completed, the issue should be discussed by the Arbiters and resolved accordingly.
Section 3: Performance
AFKs are not permitted without first notifying the Cohort leader of your Class. Emergencies arise from time to time, but should be announced to your Cohort leader. In the rare instance that the Cohort leader is not available, message a member of the Senate that is in the raid. The last resort is to message the Raid Leader.

When the Raid is preparing to take down a boss or in the process of taking down a boss, Vent should be clear. The only person that should be talking in Vent is the Raid leader and those he designates to talk. All other talking should be non-existent or very minimal. If you have something that is important, take it up through your class channels or to the appropriate leaders, following the rules of messaging the Raid leader.

In some cases, a boss may have the potential to drop an item that no one in the raid requires. In these circumstances, it is often in the best interest of the raid to swap in a member for the duration of the boss fight that needs the specific item. The swapped member should enter the instance immediately after getting invited into the raid, and summoned the next moment after zoning in. Only the requested item will be opened to the swapped member.
Article 4: The DKP System
We are using a modified Dragon Kill Point system. The DKP System is currently being reworked. Please see our DKP site for details.
